Privacy Policy
Effective: April 12, 2026 · Last updated: April 17, 2026
KOLUP ("the Service") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy
describes what information the Service processes and how.
1. Information We Collect
The Service does not require sign-up or password-based login. However,
to improve service quality, it uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication
to generate a per-device anonymous identifier (UID).
We do not request your name, email, phone number, date of birth, or
any other personally identifying information. We collect
anonymized usage analytics to improve the Service.
2. Information Processed On Your Device
To provide core functionality, the following information is processed on
your device or transmitted to third-party APIs. None of it is stored on
our servers.
-
Location (coordinates): With your permission, the app
reads your device location and sends the coordinates to the Open-Meteo
weather API (open-meteo.com) in order to recommend outfits suitable for
current weather. We do not store your location.
-
Camera and Photos: The app accesses your camera and
photo library only when you choose to take or pick a photo for color
extraction. Images are processed on-device only and are not uploaded or
stored anywhere.
-
Preferences: Settings you enter (gender, style
keywords, clothing categories) are stored in local device storage
(AsyncStorage) and removed when you uninstall the app.
-
Cloud sync of onboarding selections: To improve
recommendation quality and prioritize new curations, your onboarding
selections (fashion keywords, clothing categories, app version,
platform, language) are stored in Firebase Firestore (Google,
US/Asia regions) keyed by an anonymous identifier (Firebase Anonymous
UID). No name, email, or other directly identifying information is
included. This data is deleted when you uninstall the app or upon
request via the contact in section 7.
-
Usage Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to
collect anonymized usage data such as screen views, button taps, and
feature usage frequency. This data does not include advertising
identifiers (IDFA) and cannot be used to personally identify you.
Collected data is stored on Google servers (United States). See
Firebase Privacy Policy.
3. Third-Party Services
We do not sell or share your information with third parties. The Service
communicates with the following external services to provide
functionality:
-
Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) — weather data (receives
location coordinates)
-
Cloudflare Pages (color-codi-assets.pages.dev) — CDN
for outfit assets
-
Google Firebase Analytics (firebase.google.com) —
anonymized app usage analytics
-
Google Firebase Authentication / Firestore
(firebase.google.com) — anonymous identifier issuance and storage of
onboarding selections
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Local device settings are removed when you uninstall the app. Onboarding
selections stored in Firebase Firestore (keyed by an anonymous identifier)
are deleted when you use Settings > Data Management > Delete Account
in the app, uninstall the app, or upon request via the contact in
section 7. We do not retain any other personal data.
5. Your Rights
You may revoke location, camera, or photo permissions at any time through
your iOS Settings. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
You can delete your cloud-synced onboarding selections and anonymous
authentication data directly from the app via
Settings > Data Management > Delete Account.
Alternatively, contact us using the email in section 7 and we will
erase them without undue delay.
6. Children's Privacy
The Service does not knowingly collect information from children under 13
(or 14 in Korea).
